Course overview
These courses prepare people to work in management roles in small business, especially in the field of tourism & travel.
Both 36- week courses contain a core of skills required for any business including marketing, staff management and legal issues.
- The Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management focuses on the special issues that arise in the marketing and management of tourism business.
- The Diploma in Business Management and Marketing concentrates more on general issues in managing small business.
Entry requirements
The following English level is required to undertake our diploma courses.
- IELTS 5.0 Academic or equivalent (TOEFL 500) -or-
- INDIA only – A score of over 60% in students year 12 English Exam -or-
- SRI LANKA only – a credit or Distinction pass in English -or-
A student who does not meet any of the above 3 options has two choices.
- Either continue to study English in India until they can meet this requirement, or
- We can arrange for English language lesson in New Zealand to run consecutively with the going places education.
Diploma course in Christchurch
Qualification
1. Going places Diploma in Business Management & Marketing (includes National Diploma in Business Level 5).
2. Going places Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management (includes National Diploma in tourism).
Pathway to further study
Going places education: 6 papers credit to NZ Diploma in business. No IELTS required.
AUT: 3-5 papers credit to Diploma in Travel and Tourism IELTS 5.5 or 6.0
AIS: Bachelor of Tourism Management 7 papers credit.
Massey: Bachelor of Business 2-3 papers credit
CPIT: Credit transfer to be advised.
Duration and start dates
The Diploma Course is 36 weeks, with a study break in the middle of the course.
